I had planned to buy a digital camera for myself. Wanted to take pictures of our cuddle of joy who came into our life on oct 26 last year. Didnt want to miss those moments. So started looking for a basic point and shoot camera. After reading lots of reviews all over the internet. Went for this canon A590IS model.
The reason?
One of the reason why I went for this cam was it was from canon. A reputated company with years of experience in this field. Secondly it afford some manual controls , like adjusting the shutter and aperture. It also allows you to adjust the flash power from low , midium to high.
It also has view finder, so you can shut the LCD screen and save battery.
Overall its a nice camera and takes good pictures. Clarity is great , and colors come out well. Pictures taken with full optical zoom also came out well.
The biggest reason which pulled me towards this model, the capability to view pictures movies right on TV, a big major advantage over other models in this class. My people loved this features, so no need to take printouts or write VCD, just plug and show the pictures to even people in villages.
I would recomend this camera for people looking for a little more than a P&S camera .Some of the pictures that I took with this cam
