We usually frequent China Gate Bandra and I must say all Chinese food hoggers can surely opt for the place atleast once. But these time we thought of going for Indian food for a change and decided to try Caravan Serai. As I entered I kind of liked the decor of the place, the restaurant specializes in North Western Frontier Cuisine and everything around seemed to be in resonance to the theme. They took the theme so seriously that they only played hardcore punjabi folk music (not even pop). One after the other Punjabi songs(which were probably from the 19th century) kept on playing as we got engaged in our own conversation.
Within sometime after placing the order the food was served. Now mostly all your chefs and readymade food packets say SERVE HOT.if it is food it is an understtod fact that it is supposed to be served hot but our caravan serai guys beleive in SERVE COLD unlike the usual.now it is a different thing if your trying to stand out or be different but here not at the cost of Customers(guys please keeep that in mind). Well somehow we finished the food(thanks to the acrtobats in our stomaches that we temporarily neglected the above). We paid the bill and got out of the place deciding never to go there again. Well then just at the entrance there was a tray of paan kept which none of us could resist. All of us grabbed one each and put it in our mouths. But to our surprise they maintained their reputation there as well. The meetha paan was tasting unusally sour and we had to spit it all out:(
