Care hospital, is one the most reputed hospitals in Hyderabad (this review
is purely based on my two visits of the hospitals in Hyderabad) and have
state of the art medical facilities.
There are three (best to my knowledge) Care hospitals in Hyderabad which
located at : Secunderabad, Nampally and Banjara hills. Of these three I
visited Banjara hills branch of the hospital. This hospitals has been in
limelight for good or bad reasons. And its popularity can be gauged from the
fact that many politicians and actors prefer this hospital. One thing I would
like to mention here is that I found out from some people that earlier this
building was hosting a 5-star hotel and was later converted into a hospital.
This fact reflects in the interiors of the rooms and good bathrooms.
I would start with giving the rates of the rooms, which is as follows:
General Ward : INR 300 per day
Shared (by 2) A/C : INR 850 per day
Single A/C : INR 1800 per day
Deluxe A/C :INR 2500 per day
I would start with the review of infrastructure and expenses.I visited this
hospital twice. For the first time I was in a single room but for the second
time I shared the room. Except General ward all the rooms have AC facility.
I would compare the single room with the shared room first. Interior wise
both the rooms were identical but shared room was a little congested (not
a big problem). The rooms contain beds for patients(of course) and the
attendant. Though the bathroom of the shared room was meant to be shared
by 4 people, it was little smaller than the bathroom of single room. Water
is available 24 hours a day but one problem in shared bathroom was that it
did not had connection for hot water which could be a problem for some kind
of patient. So if we ignore this hot water problem then both (single/shared)
the rooms are more are less same.(This bathroom problem may not be true
for every room as I get to see only two rooms). So choosing a room will
mainly depend on how much are you willing to spend. Though one thing you
must consider while choosing a room is that the operation related cost
depends on your kind of room. So if you are staying in a deluxe room you
will have to pay more than when you are in a single room or say a shared
room.
The service here is quite good here and the staff is hard working. There
are people to clean the room. There is staff to for getting you stuff like
water or anything you need just by the press of a bell. There is staff to
give you sponge bath. There is a canteen
downstairs inside the hospital campus which provides good food at
reasonable rates. Canteen service boys come to every room to take orders. I
tries some stuff like Idly, Meals, Dosa and some sandwitches and all were
good.Infact Idly was really very tasty and light (for stomach). One good
thing is that patients canteen bill is added in the main bill, so you dont
need to pay them every time they bring some stuff. Though for attendants food
you need to pay them cash at the time of delivery. But one bad thing which
i noticed about canteen workers is that they try to push food on you so
strictly say NO if you dont need food otherwise they will keep brining
them (they wont even ask your preference).
The medical treatment is very good here and in most of the cases you will
get proper advice. The nurses here are well qualified and helpful. And the
doctors here are definitely very qualified and experienced , so dont panic
you will be in safe hands. Some of the facilities available here are:
-Cardio-Thoracic Dental
-ENT
-Gastro Intestinal
-General Surgery
-Gynaecology
-Hand Surgery
-Neuro Surgery
-Onco Surgery
-Opthalmology
-Orthopedics
-Pediatric Surgery
-Plastic Surgery
-Trauma & Emergency
-Urology
-Vascular Surgery
As I had to go through a small operation one of the times, I came to know
a bit about the operation procedure and the staff here. The O.T. staff here
is very amiable and helpful. They will try to talk to you and ask you about
yourself, your family background, your education etc. etc. The idea is to
soothe you down before the start of the operation. After operation you will
be kept under some critical ward with staff keeping a close eye on your BP,
heart-beat, temperature. You can be relieved from there only after your
doctor gives the permission to move you from there to your room.
The only negative factor I see here is that the treatment is very costly and
a three day visit with an operation will cost you atleast 15-20 thousand bucks.
I dont see any other negative point than this.
So if you willing to spend some bucks you can avail the good medical facility
here.
