I was almost ready to buy a Tata Nexon Turbo CNG. The features and price looked attractive, but I thought of getting a PDI just to be safe. After checking some good options online, I found that cars24 offers the best pdi service and hence booked it. The CARS24 inspector immediately found multiple issues - faulty sensors, electrical error codes showing up, and most concerning, a front fender that had been repainted.
At first, I thought maybe its just small glitches caused by a weak battery. But when the dealer couldnt resolve a steering sensor fault on the spot, my confidence in that particular car dropped to zero. They quickly offered me another Nexon unit then and there. Again, I got the PDI done by the expert, and even that car wasnt perfect. At that point, I was done. I lost faith in the batch of cars they were trying to push.
Eventually, I shifted to a Maruti Brezza, which felt far more reliable. Looking back, the Rs 2, 000 I spent on the PDIs was the best investment. Without it, I wouldve ended up with a problem-ridden Nexon that might have cost me lakhs in the long run.
