This is the cutest song I’ve ever seen or heard, , it’s from
the animated TV series JUNGLE BOOK , which
used to air on Sunday mornings on doordarshan in 1990’s.
It is the hindi version of famous Japanese animation ’Jungle Book Shonen
Mowgli’.directed by Fumio Kurocova, The Indian version has music by Vishal Bharadwaj, lyrics by Gulzar . It is adaptation of stories in
the book “The Jungle Book”, by RUDYARD KIPLIN .
There is also a film made on it in 1967 with the same
name, produced and directed by Disney studios.
I’m not sure tht it’s still on air, , as I DON”T WATCH
DOORDARSHAN any more, , , :D, but who else
does tht anywayz??!!, , , :D, , u can buy it ‘s DVD”S from the local vendor, or

The jungle book (Indian TV. series) is a story of a boy who, lost by his parents in an Indian Jungle
was brought up by wolves, first of all let me introduce you to the various CHARACTRES
of the story_
MOGLI – the protagonist, , :).hero
of the story is a boy of 8-10 yrs.
BAGHEERA – the black panther, who
befriends mogli, & becomes his god father.
BALU – the bear, who is the
teacher of the wolves and thus teaches mogli also.
SHER KHAN – the tiger who by any
means wants to kill mogli, as he hates human beings and consider them his
enemy, , (no wonder !!remember there’s only, , 1114 left!!, , :D, , or may be, by now
lesser, , , :D.hope u all remember that sherkhan’s voice over was done by Nana
patekar.
WOLVES – leela &moti his foster parents and akdu
pakdu his brothers.
RADHA – the heroin!!, , oh! Yes!!
like the tarzon had jane & apna desi mogli have RADHA, , , :D
Apart from these there are many like KAA – the friendly python. CHEEL- the
kite, Tabaci- the greedy hyna & many
more which comes as the story demands ;)
STORY – Mogli’s father was a
forest ranger , one day when both his parents were out on one there
expeditions, , mogli who was a toddler at tht time came out of tent to play and
got lost in the jungle, , his parents looked out for him every where but could
not trace him, , on the other side of the jungle, BALU saw him and called BAGHEERA
to go search for his parents, as bagheera has lived with a king , was
familiar with human beings, but unfortunately when Bagheera went there , Mogli’s parents who were got
scared of seeing a panther and acccidently slipped down from the waterfall, from thn
onwards the jungle becomes Mogli’s home, the wolf couple adopted him, & the bear
does the thankless job of teaching mogli, , , , lolzzzz. With bagheera(as he blamed himself of the death of
mogli’s parents) hovering
around like an angel god mother, , he he can’t write father with angel!!, , , the rest is the life of
mogli & his jungle escapades, , :D
MORALS – generally when we read our kids a story book at end of it there is
a moral or two to teach them. This book was made for entertainment, but in THE
JUNGLE BOOK I find many a things to teach my kids like,
1 RESPECT living beings be it animals, plants
or humans we all are creations of the GOD almighty & thus deserve a equal
amount of respect.
2 RULES we should all abide by the rules of the community we are part of, imagine
those animals did that , , don’t know when we humans will start following!!??, , , lol.
3 LOVE ALL yes it does , that why inspite of the protest of the herd, leela
decided to adopt the toddler, and gave her a place in the family.
4 MOTHER NATURE the issues of concern like deforestation, global warmimg and
extinction of the rare animals can be
taught in a fun way.
5 PEACEFUL CO – EXISTENCE – if only us humans will understand tht, , L, there
were cheaters, thieves, hard workers, , HARDLY WORKERS, , , lol, in jungle also, and tht
must be what RUDYARD’S idea of
representing a human civilization.
There are many which u can teach ur
kids as u watch every episode, but I’m signing off as my two MOGLIS are standing here waiting for the evening snacks !!, , lolzzz.

humans, will also try and follow the rule of JUNGLE,
"The Law of the Jungle, which never orders anything without a
reason, forbids every beast to eat Man except when he is killing to show his
children how to kill, and then he must hunt outside the hunting grounds of his
pack or tribe."
