"TOUGH" is the word which I would use to describe a pair of Cats ..The Harley Davidson , Johnnie Walker , Jack Daniels , Rolls Royce and anything and everything BEST which I missed out --- For your Feet .
Yes initially it pinches to buy a pair of Cats ( They cost a Bomb in India - 3500+) however the durability will out do any other National or International brand and ......In the long run you win ..There goes a saying with Cats " One who uses them for less than 5 years does unjustice to them " .. Trust me my first pair of cat boots which my Dad got for me when I was in my first year of college are still going strong , after 6 yrs and numerous stones being kicked with their steel toe .....
The craftsmanship is phenomenal ..the quality of materials used is by far the best you can get and the shoes are amazing to look at ....
The tough exterior look makes one think " Would they be comfortable" ?
Take my word guys .....comfort is synonymous with Cat and with over 100 years of experience in shoe making ...how can one go wrong ? From a personal experience ..I have walked 20-25 kms a day ( during some of my trekking expeditions ) and I still dont know what I would have done without them ...
The History : It all began in 1904 as an innovative idea from Benjamin Holt and Daniel Best...who started off by manufacturing heavy construction equipment. They tied up with Wolverine World Wide and ....created a revolution in the Non Atheletic footwear industry . Today Caterpillar produces over 6 millons pairs annually and sells in over 140 countries ........ including India .
Initially you would find the shoes to be a bit heavy ...however being labelled as a "Non Atheletic " and a "Tough" brand ...Please dont expect a Light weight product from Cat in the near future ....They are not for the weak hearted and are made to last....
Unfortunately ...the range available in India is not even 30% of what is available in the US . I bought 2 pairs in Ohio last year ...which dealers out here have not even heard of ...Thats sad ....However recently dealers have started importing from Taiwan...and I have seen some latest models in the market ...A Good Omen !! ...major footwear shops in malls stock them..Royal Sporting House being the front runner ...
They are expensive , as I said earlier ...A good pair of boots will cost you around Rs 5000..However This is more because of the Import duty on them rather than the actual cost of the shoe ...
Overall they are worth their price ....Treat your feet .... Protect them with Cats....and enjoy the walk of life ...
I would love to know your thoughts and would appreciate your ratings on my review .....thanks
