Although I have only flown with Cathay Pacific four or five times, I consider it to be an excellent airline. The ground service is very good, the airline has modern, well maintained, aircraft and the pilots are highly rated.
My trips with this airline have been Asian-based regional flights to Seoul, Manila, and Jakarta , all in coach class, and I have been very impressed with the in flight service.
The cabin crew are very well trained and they are recruited from a wide range of Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, China including Hong Kong SAR, Malaysia and the Philippines. The standard of spoken English of the in cabin staff is high, comparable with that on say, Singapore Airlines or Malaysia Airlines.
There is a nice in flight magazine tucked inside the seat pocket which I found to be a good read, the service from the flight attendants has few equals, and the quality of the cuisine served for flights of 2-3 hours duration was excellent.I rarely buy duty free on board but the Hong Kong based airline seems to have a good range of duty free items on board.The in-flight entertainment was fine although not perhaps as sophisticated as that on Singapore Airlines.Overall this airline comes highly recommended by this reviewer.
