Flying Delhi-Hong-Kong, I thought Cathay Pacific were a relatively good airline. Having flown Economy Class with them, I can safely say that it is quite good. It is not exceptional like say Malaysia Airlines but it is far better then the economy class product offered by BA, Air France, Qantas. Comparisons to Singapore Airlines as some of thier flights vary from excellent to downright awful. CX falls somewhere in between closer to the excellent end of the scale.
Check in at Delhi was relatively good and boarding was done swiftly and the aircraft was an A330. The all crucial leg room was alright, but not like Malaysia Airlines. Seats were a bit narrow but still very manageable and better then what alot of other international airlines offer. Cabin crew service was again excellent and very attentive.
Food was quite average in terms of quality. A small snack of a chicken sandwitch followed by breakfast was served on this 4 hr 30 minute flight. This is quite alot, and the crew were more then generous with the food despite the flight being full and were actually urging passengers to take second helpings. However, in terms of taste and quality the food was normal airline food.
Baggage and arrivals at Hong Kong were swift and efficient. Overall, a good show by Cathay Pacific.
