Strictly for celebrations

Our trip to celebrations was on the occasion of my husband’s birthday..so me got all dolled up for a formal dinner and got to this place..firstly I must comment on the ambience..it has got this warm feel..nothing is very luxurious but the whole decor is very tastefuly done..waiters are very well informed and helpful..we went in at around peak time and just barely managed a table so I think a larger contingent of diners should probably call in advance and book a table..another interesting feature was the bar which seemed quite well stocked and inviting..the table we got was quite tucked away so the privacy element was well looked into(without us even asking)..we were given the usual two menus...the dishes seemed all very delectable but were quite overpriced(i guess you have got to pay for the dim lighting and expensive tablelinens also)..but we were prepared to spend our paycheck and we went ahead and ordered a biryani and a chicken sidedish with a buttery gravy and stuffed kulchas..the kulchas were excellent..it was great..even the chicken and the biryani was good but somehow at the end of the meal you were left thinking why the hell am I still hungry despite having spent such a lot of money on this meal??..then came the dessert..we ordered an indian one..it was about average..finally the whole meal cost us around 800 bucks(this despite there being no soup, starter, or drinks)and we left the place swearing never to return..hell if we wanted to pay for the ambience only then might as well stay home..what beats home..but at the end of the day we both mutually decided that it was a good dining experience overall and we might actually return for any future celebrations!
