I found this book at a freinds house and picked it up for all the hype I heard about it . What I found was a modestly entertaining little adventure purported to be a parable explaining the next step in our spiritual evolution. Basically Redfield explains God, the Bible, coincidence, and providence through the lens of Eastern mysticism and a New Age worldview ala Indiana Jones or Romancing the Stone. Someparts of this book can make a lot of sense and appeal to people who are going through a lean phase in their lives. So it really depends as to at what point of time in your life you are reading this kinda stuff and hence makes it very difficult to give an unbiased opinion about such books which may end up becoming self-help or inspiring books. As for me, It didnt just match upto my expectations and sadly was not very inspring.
Read the Celestine Prophecy to get a glimpse of what some people think of as reality or read it if you have some time to kill, but do not read this for insights into spiritual reality. For that I recommend the Bhagavad Geeta or even The Bible.
