Chaalbaaz is a movie by Pankaj Parasher. The story plot of Seeta Aur Geeta of Hema Malini is lifted by every point.
For the uninitiated, this is the story of anju and manju twin sisters(Sridevi in Double Role) separated by their evil uncle(Anupam Kher) who kills their parents. Anju is the meek sister who is under subjection of torture by the Uncle -Trilokinath. He is assisted by mausi(Rohini Hattangadi) and Balma(Shakti Kapoor). Manju is a street girl who is a dancer.
The romantic male interests are played by Sunny Deol and Rajnikant. who help the sisters to defeat the evil uncle.
The film is good for time pass. Music is OK by Laxmikant Pyarelal. Acting of the actors is standard stuff and direction is good. Film is fast paced and entertaining.
If you have nothing else to do and kill time, you can see this movie as a time pass.
Donot expect much and you will not be disappointed.
The dances are good and camerawork, sets etc. are good. The bad characters indulge in overacting and the film looks quite silly at times. However, compared to K stuff on Star, it is high class.
