The movie brilliantly captures the theme of the much neglected teachers who have contributed to the future of tons and tons of brilliant people. It is a welcome departure from rest of the crap doled out by Bollywood actors and directors.
Shabana Azmi is the soul of the film with a breathtaking performance. She is ably supported by a very competent star cast comprising of Juhi Chawla, Zareena Wahab and last but not the least Divya Dutta. A rivetting performance by the lead gives an animated life to the entire theme which is otherwise buried in a morass of many other overwhelming social issues plaguing India.
The greed that overcomes ethics is a lesson to all our corporators who have tried to commercialize the education system. Degrees are now sold rather than earned.
All families, students past and future should watch this film. It is a lesson about remembrance, gratitude, compassion and reverence for our teachers. Please dont go by paid critic ratings. Go by audience rating and people who have their sensibilities opened to this theme.
