Chameli--She is available! Go get her.

No matter where I go the essence of Chameli clings on to me. I saw her once and then heard her twice, it happened thrice and went on and on. Till date I have not had enough of her. I want more.

Chameli is a beautiful movie. I guess it is one of the best ever made in this genre. It talks about two strangers coming together on a stormy night, of which one is a prostitute and the other an upmarket professional. How a chance rendezvous leads upto a series of events and an unprofessed relationship blooms between the two.

The theme of Chameli is not dark, as many critics have pointed out but very fragile and nimble. Everyone knows what’s going to happen in the end but still Chameli breaks your heart in the end. This happens because of a simple reason—the left hand does not know what the right hand wants and vice versa. Chameli is a practical movie, viewers would like to see the end in a typical bollywood fashion but it is not so. The end is even more fabulous, Chameli ends just the way it is supposed to, in real life.

I guess there are two kinds of critics for this movie. There are those who have not seen this movie and yet do not refrain themselves from commenting on it (because they have taken it for granted that it is a typical bollywood movie). There there are those who have seen this movie and praised it for one reason or the other. There is no third category.

I wanted to talk about the film before finally settling down on the songs. The reason being simple—to jig up my readers memory and remind them of Chameli’s marvelous songs. I recommend that everyone should watch this movie for two primary reasons, the movie is so nice and the songs are really good. In fact the theme of Chameli and the soundtrack both complement each other.

The album.

There are four songs in this album besides an instrumental called the soul of Chameli, (this actually seems to be the new trend in all music cassettes). All tracks are melodious and loaded with mystery. The mystery lies in the deep and relevant https://lyrics. Almost everyone would relate to it instantaneously. Sandesh Shandilya has run parallel with the script and done justice to all tracks. Look out for the peppy beats of Bhaage re mann and the soft lilting tones of Bheegi hui shaam.

Bhaage re mann kahin—This song is very melodious and extremely naughty. It sings about the various emotions running through a girls heart. The girl in question is of course no ordinary one, she is love struck. The lyrics are too good, Irshaad Kamil has done great work in this area. Sunidhi Chauhan, who usually sings high pitched songs has given a marvelous perfomance in this song. Her voice modulation is terrific in here.

Rating-4.5/5

Jaane—This happens to be the second track of the album and it is a class apart. That Chameli is a prostitute is not an easy task to say in words, yet Irshad Kamil like an expert maverick pulls out the most beautiful lyrics from his magical hat. Udit Narayan sings this song in a deep voice and sounds so very philosophical and enigmatic, may be its because of the music and lyrics combo. The song comes twice in the album. Side A has both Sunidhi and Udit casting their magic, while in Side B Sunidhi goes solo and does a cool job.

Rating-4/5

Har mod par hoti hai neelam who,

Mashoor hai,

Phir bhi hai badnam woh.

Sajna Ve Sajna—Sunidhi Chauhan rocks in this song. She is back with her usual self and manages to cast her spell on veryone who tunes in to this song. An open confession, this song is terrific. I would recommend veryone to play this song on a chilly winter night on a roof-top by the fire. The effect would be majestic. This is one song which can be called cheap dirt, slammed, bashed, ridiculed and spat on, yet in the end no can ignore it and ultimately fall for it. I simply love it.

Rating-5/5

Yeh Lamha—Sometimes the best remains hidden until it is discovered. This the case with Yeh Lamha. It is a racy track masqueraded in a slow introduction. The lyrics are great and a typical Sunidhi kind of song. A bit nostalgic and philosophical, Yeh Lamha is all about living for the moment.

rating-3.5/5

The song goes like this…

Zindagi udd rahi,

Ban ke dhuan dhuan,

Kal Mile Naa mile,

Kya pata kal kahan…..

I guess Chameli is all about living for the moment, everyone should go for it—literally and practically! It would be an experience in itself. She is available for whoever wants her but it depends more on every individual, in terms of extracting pleasure from Chameli. Thus, I would say Chameli makes an impact, both as a movie and as a melodious experience.

There people who think that Chameli would have drawn more attention if Kareena and Rahul were not in it but in my opinion it has drawn the most attention because of only them. Kareena has acted really good and Rahul has played his part well.

Go Get her.
