Goddess Chamundeshwari in Chamundi Hills

Today I wish write about one of the famous temple in Mysore District in Karnataka. That’s about Goddess Chamundeshwari. This temple is located at the top of chamundi hills its is also known as chamundi betta in that place with local language. Chamundi hill temple is one of the famous temple’s in Mysore with lots of belief in it.


Before entering to the temple let me tell you about the convenience facility to that temple.


Chamundi Temple is 13 Km away from Mysore city.


We get N number of buses from Mysore city bus stop. Even cab facility is also available. But bus transport is more convenient.

Now about temple environment. The moment we enter the chamundi Temple we see a huge statue of Mahishasura. It commonly believed that he will be guarding goddess all the 24 hours.


Timings of Goddess Darshana


8.30 am to 2pm


5pm to 8.30 pm


Offerings that we can offer to Goddess is mentioned in the list outside the temple. But offering saree to goddess is more valuable.


Around the temple there is Lord Shiva temple and a huge Nandi statue which is 15 feet height and 24 feet long. Even you have beautiful sight seeing and you can have look of entire view of Mysore city.


To this palace even Maharaja of Mysore offer’s prayer on the first day of Navarathri before he starts his celebrations in his palace.


By visiting the palace we have peace of mind and by offering prayers all our wishes will be fulfilled.
