THE LEGEND says that over 500 years ago a king named VETTAYA MAHARAJA wanted to make a dancer named CHANDRAMUKHI as his mistress, but she refused to come with him and so the king compelled her to come to his palace. Actually chandramukhi was is love with another dancer. So she made her lover stay in the house adjacent to the palace. The king came to know about this. He ordered both of them to dance in front of him and then he killed chandramukhi’s lover and burnt her. But the spirit of hers is said to be roaming in the palace to take revenge on the king.
THE STORY: Senthil (prabhu) and ganga (jyothika) were married and they had decided to buy the king’s aranmanai. but many said that it wasn’t a good idea to buy the palace, but prabhu didn’t listen to anything.. And then later they bought the palace . Ranjni was a good friend of senthil and he was a psychatrist . There was a chandramukhi room but nobody went into that room as they believed that the spirit
of chandramukhi was in there. but ganga became really curious to know what was inside that room .. She also did not believe in spirits so day after day she became more and more curious and one day she opened the door . Then she started to clear the room and then one day the spirit entered her body. Meanwhile senthil’s aun’t brother’s daughter was in love with a dance professor and as she was living with senthil and ganga she made the professor stay in the adjacent house of the palace. As chandramukhi had entered ganga’s body ganga started behaving like chandramukhi. She made various plans to kill her husband for which the reasons will be revealed later in the movie. She always used to put the blame on durga- the aranmanai’s gardner’s granddaughter who was also the lover of rajni.. The climax is really really cool..
Jyothika’s and rajni’s acting is amazing .. Rajni’s acting is excellent and the makeup man should definitely be appreciated for the makeup he has done for rajni..it was just like padayappa rajni.. Jyothika has also done a good job and especially during the climax ..her makeup during the climax is way cool and thrilling.. People like nazar, prabhu, etc.... don’t have a great role in the movie. The comedy was not at all good as it was all about vadevelu’s fear for ghosts and his wife falling for rajni.. SONGs are really good , but if u listen to the songs without watching the u won’t like it that much.. For instance if u take me as an example I wasn’t for the songs at first but after I saw the movie I really love the songs...
