The much awaited movie of the super star of Tamil cinema ….chandramukhi ...
It’s really a good news that it had lived upto the expectations of the tamil cine lovers.A telugu remake movie with a nice story line…
I don’t want to get into the story coz …many might have seen the movie by now…and even if u haven’t seen it …its better to watch it without knowing the story…..
The disadvantage of these sort of stories is u wont find repeat audience for the movie.obviously once the final knot is known then there is nothing much which will attract people in these kinds…
RAJNI IN A DEFENSIVE MODE:
First of all the title chandramukhi itself says it all ….this movie is not going to move around Super star….i don’t remember a rajni’s movie bearing a female title….(if there’s any I wud be happy to develop my GK on tamil cinema…..)
Rajni was obviously under heavy pressure after the mega flop of the most expected BABA plus the political issues….so the only opportunity for him to prove himself is the movie…
This point is very clearly visible in the movie…..
Rajni in the course of giving a hit movie has adapted a highly defensive approach …ultimately he had choosen a subject wherein the heroine has got bigger role than himself…(this doesn’t mean that im against a female subject …)
Rajni’s trademarks r simply missing in this movie…
No punch dialogues watsoever… …Inclusion double meaning dialogues (infact it has got only one meaning which is vulgar…)
Though as a youngster I liked and laughed at them…this is not expected from a rajni’s movie…
one wud not say this movie as rajni’s movie.. sometimes I felt why this man has gone so much into the shell
This approach from rajni clearly indicates that he is desperate to make this one hit…
the point im trying to say is though the movie is a hit one as on date…has rajni made it ..or has he proved himself to the tamil public… to my mind that is a question mark …
But I don’t know whether rajni’s fans r satisfied with the movie or not..(as fans of rajni ..not as cine audience…)
JOTHIKA:
Now let us go to the movie paart…Jothikaaa emerges out as the staar of the movie…she plays the character very well…..She does exceedingly well in the climax part…but her body structure puts her into trouble when she dances (sagikala….).As per Director faazil’s comment jothikaa had made a commedy of dance in the climax which was very well done by shobana in Telugu version.
Anyways in the movie dancing is not of that much importance……..
VADIVEL:
As a comedian Vadivel does a good job..especially the dialogue delivery …’’maapu ..maapu maaaaapu…vechitaaayaan aapu’’ even in that thrilling situation one cudnt control the laughter….
PRABHU:
To me ..prabhu has been wasted altogether….infact I wud say prabhu was a wrong selection to that character …the character doesn’t have any importance in the movie…and an able actor like prabhu in that character is an utter waste..anybody cud have done that job…..( this reminds me the wastage of barathiraja in the villain character(ayutha ezhuthu)…)
Then coming to the akhilaandeswari character.. this is just another character to raise the anxiousness among the viewers..cud have given more importance to it…neither properly handled nor properly solved in the end… Even nayan thaara has got nothing much to do except for the fact that she is the heroine of the hero.
COVERING ALL:
The climax part is well made…I liked the way they solved it at the end..actually they tried to satisfy both the theist and atheist audience by giving a scientific reason as well as using the poojari till the end …that was really a good move…(once again the desperateness in making the movie hit is visible)
Songs r all hit types….these days im out of TN ..so I don’t really know their status..neither im a music expert …to me the songs r good on first hearing but not excellent types…maybe repeated listening may further make it look better …..The songs ’’konja neram’’ & ’’para para’’ sounds nice….
So there ends my view on Chandramukhi and rajni...i haven’t included the technical aspects of the movie coz im not good at them.....
