Chanel # 5 perfume has been a classic for many years, and I first tried it years ago, at the request of my (now ex) husband. His mother had worn it, and he described it as a classic scent.
I have worn it off and on for years, but now limit the use to certain occasions, when a more sophisticated scent is called for. It has been known to remind people of their mothers - as it is such a longstanding brand. So if the fragrance was worn by mom (or grandmother), it may not be the most enticing scent for romantic occasions!
Its great for business, and formal occasions. When Im out for fun - for dancing or dinner, Im more inclined to wear a lighter, sexier fragrance.
