This review is for all of those travellers, who loves to explore new places and things. So I am writing about Changey Falls , which is situated in a place called Kolakham, a rural village of Kalimpong. , or also known as Kolebung.
Inorder to visit this place, one can go either by train or Flights. The last stoppage of yours will be Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Station in siliguri. Lots of taxis are available in siliguri at affordable cost. There is two ways, either of them CM be followed to reach Changey Falls. One is via Kalimpong and another one is via Gorubathan.
First one has to reach lava, which is also a tourist visiting place in Darjeeling. From there, a four wheeler taxi is to be hiered. One cant go by the mini or short hieght car. The roads are very much undulating. Only the local taxi drivers can ride safely over there.
From lava, via Neora Biodiversity Park, , one can reach the outskirts of a village called Kolakham. Here you can find lodge, homestay. From the starting point of kolakham , one has to reach the other endpoint of this place to visit Changey falls. No artificial methods are used to beautify the place. Everything is natural and original. From an insurmountable height a rivulet falling down mesmerises everyone. It lies very near to Sikkim. The border between sikkim and Westbengal is just 15 minutes distance from here.
Kolakham is mostly known because of Change Falls, and Neora Biodiversity Park.
The tourist in large numbers come here during the months of August to November. All the lodge owners, have their own vehicle Gypsy for the tourist purpose. Foods are available and are made as per the demand of the tourists. One can enjoy the true beauty of nature in this place at an affordable cost.
The village hardly have the population of 500, and out of them 92percent belong to Rai community which is one among many subcaste of Gorkhas.
Booking can be done online, and most of the tourist follow the online process to book for the rooms in the honestly. Per day they charge 1700 or 1500 Rs. For foods and snacks , one has to make cash payment, and anyone visiting this place should carry some hard cash with them for their personal expenses because No ATM's are available over here.
Changey Falls , I believe is the one among the best place for the people belonging to any age, but the only thing is it has never been a concern for the stateGovt to revamp tourism in this place.
