Chef is directed by Jon Favreau who also plays the protagonist and it’s the story of a chef Carl casper who loses his job which leads him to open a food truck business and how his relationship with his family improves. Chef is a superbly directed movie and I think Jon Favreau is one of the best directors working today. His other work includes the amazing Iron Man movie which kick started the MCU and the 2016 live-action jungle book. Jon Favreau isn’t just a great director but a really good actor too. The supporting cast is great as well. John Leguizamo is amazing as Carl’s sous chef Martin and Emjay Anthony who plays Carl’s son Percy does a great job.Sofia Vergara is great and Oliver Platt’s dick o The movie is literally food porn and foodies will definitely love this film even more. But as the title of this review suggests don’t watch it on an empty stoamch because you will drool. I saw chef a long time ago and just loved it and the fact that the film was re-released today for one day only gave me the idea to review it. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and those who want to watch a well directed, amazingly acted film about food I suggest you buy a ticket for today. It’s definitely worth a watch. The chemistry between Carl and his son Percy is great and they seem like father and son. Their love for each other feels real. The film successfully hits all the right emotional notes. It makes you really care about the characters. The only problem I would say there is that certain cameos by actors I won’t mention leave much to be desired in that they are minimal and I would like it if there was more of them. The film looks amazing and is a lot of fun to watch. I can’t recommend this movie more. Just go watch it. You won’t regret it. Chef is an awesome film and I give it 4.5/5 stars.
