This company’s headquarters are in Kolkata, West Bengal, which is known as the capital of one of the two communist states in this country. But this company represents some of the worst forms of anti-employee attitudes I have seen. Salaries are not great for employees but extremely high for the directors and CEOs and other top executive people who play very dirty politics to hold onto their own position. Being in one of the major bandh capitals of the country, HR would announce via email that no buses would run or lunch be provided on the day of the bandh for the safety of the bus drivers and lunch providers. But employees, of course, were not given leave or alternate arrangements.They had to find their way through speech-making ralleys, violent or non-violent, to work. Even in the height of the last recession, these people instituted what they called cost-cutting measures by cutting down on work hours and printer use, but continued their buffet lunches and national and international travel for their executives, and ultimately let go off many employees in the name of cost-cutting.
These included security guards and attendants who were making a pittance to support their families. But these people did not hesitate to hold a radio mirchi fun-filled program to "help the morale of the employees" and also held a so-called annual picnic, lunch, drinks and a few stages for puppets etc for the children, and another stage for item girls for the male employees entertainment.The company chairman, "PC" is US-based so he comes down to India from time to time but depends on all these crooks for his business so he looks the other way or maybe he encourages them. HR has some of the most crooked and incompetent people you will ever see in the corporate world who prey on young female employees.
No fire safety, no job safety. There is absolutely no system except to suit the convenience of the managers on top. Avoid unless you are from Kolkata and are looking for some way to make money on a temporary basis.
