Well WHAT’S BEST when you are buying a car ???? It is a question answer to which has numerable variables but then the prime consideration is ALWAYS MONEY. So the STRAIGHT ANSWER IS Best in what your money can afford. So I like any other person went around appreciating WHICH CAR TO BUY.
My factors :-
1. Budget - 6.5 lacs.
2. Loan - No loan.
3. Petrol Car - After Keeping INDICA for 08 yrs NO MORE DIESEL.
4. GOOD LOOKS, Comfort, Economy ( my monthly running is not more than 200 km but yearly running is about 7000+ , thanks to the sense of adventure alive in me).
5. Reliability - need less to say.
well I DID NOT EVEN CONSIDER AVEO AT THE WORD GO BECAUSE IT IS AN UNDER DOG. so here it goes. After going through all the options - good here- bad here- tooo good- too price, I was saturated and MARUTI DZIRE PETROL WAS coming out as a fall out of above considereations. Well due regards to Maruti - INDIGO is acceptable but DZIRE - NO WAY.
Then I saw an AVEO ( I N THE part of country I live - Spotting an Aveo is Like seeing a MERCEDES or a Rolls Royce). Got my Grey Cells Working as also internet. Did some research on the car and the so called VGIS technology. So here are my findings :-
(a) KOREANS produce the same technology as JAPANESE but cheaper.
(b) RELIABILITY - AS MUCH. example santro ask some owner.
(c) Price cheaper - Japan is jst an Island. Imangine the COST Of pePSI on ANDAMAN Islands - if you been there.
(d) Comfort - any day better.
AVEO was a straight winner in first go. New HONDA CITY WAS IN MARKET BY THAT TIME AND I WAS TEMPTED TO BUY IT ONCE - BUT THE DRAWBACKS OUT WEIGH THE TECHNOLOGY THEY WANT TO ADVERTISE.
So why was the car a straight winner. Reasons as under :-
(a) Superb looks - People who don’t know the car cant guess the price also.
(b) Great Mileage - dont cross the car above 2000 rpm in city and with AC you get 15. Trust me - you can try. On high way dont cross 110 - it gives you 16-16. depending on the load you are carrying.
(c) Great features - Name a car in this price giving you :-
(i) Leather Seats.
(ii) Alloy wheels.
(iii) Driver seat adjustement.
(iv) company fitted music system.
(v) THREE YEARS OF WARRANTY.
(vi) A lot more .....
(d) Relaiubility - well first of all the car has not given me a single problem till date ( 7000 km in 05 months) and with a warranty who cares.
My Experience - :-
(a) VGIS - toooooooo good. put 5th gear in 20 speed no eng knocking. third gear works just fine from 20 -100 :) TRY IT. So no fighting in traffic.
(b) Highway - It roars with 5 people and overtaking after 60 is no problem.
(c) Top speed - well I’ve gone till 170. SKY IS THE LIMIT FOR MORE ADVENTURER TYPES.
(d) Comfort - excellent.
(e) Space - SPACE IS NOT LESS. BUT SPACE MANAGEMENT IS - NOT AS GOOD AS - INDICA.
(F) AC - I THINK TRY EVEN HONDA CITY - BEST AC I have seen in AVEO.
(h) Handling - good.
(j) Dealers - starting from buying till 2 servicing - all from different dealers - Chevy daelers are 2 good. I think marketing policy but you will be overwhelmed when you go for sevicing or buying the car.
(k) Suspension - TOO soft in my opinion but comfortable.
(l) Features - well if you want ABS with EBD - then go for 1.6 top model and instead you will buy a Honda City.
I think overall A SUPER VALUE FOR MONEY. JUST BUY IT.
