I had bougtht this chev-uva LT in Feb 2008 and writing this review in July 2008 because I liked the shape, interiors, and most of all, the name - general motors. But I tell you it seems to my experience, these people are new entrants as far as there network, franchises, availability of parts from stores, visibility on road is concerned.May be when you want to be different, a class apart, than you go for this type of car. I cant compare the car with other vehicles of the same segment as I have not driven them.
But you see it definitely consumes lot of fuel as compare to the entry segment cars. My driving is barely 20 km. a day, so expense is not a problem, but when you drive for say 100 km a day than it sure makes a dent in middle class pocket by indian standard. Also my height is 54" so I have to pull driving seat to front which makes the front visiblity poor because of obstructing pillars besides the front windscreen making it very difficult on turnings.I wish they add features like up-down Front seat adjuster, which is not available even in LT, hope it is optional.
I would like to also know the method of finding out the average running per litre of fuel, but I am trying to find the best method of such calculation in city driving condition with and without AC running. If it would not have been the problem of parking and **manoeuvrability i**n Delhi I would have preffered the Aveo over UVa, but such is the life dearies that you cant get what you should and you get what you can afford.
Bye for now.
**Dt. 13/7/08** I had driven continuously for 100 km. at night time and found the driving comfotable and not tiring in my UVA. It felt as if I was not making any effort for driving but sometimes in top gear when the speed had to be lowered by applying brakes I somehow felt powerless and incompetitive to the other brushpassing vehicles on my right or left. I therefor had to lower the gear to make do at my original postion vis a vis other vehicles.
