I went chattbir zoo about three years ago. It is about 17km away from the Chandigarh. This zoo is also known as Mahender chaudary zoological park. The entry ticket is also very cheap it it 5 rupees for children from 3-12 years and 20 rupees for above them. Battery vehicles also available if you don’t want to walk such a long distance for rupees 50 per head only.Private vehicle are not allowed inside the zoo. It is a huge garden which covers about 207 acres area.The management of the zoo is good it was really clean and neat. This zoo have about eighty species of rare animals and birds who live under large moats.
The authority of zoo try to give a natural habitat to the animals so they can freely roam as do in jungles.
Not only this, this zoo also have a variety of fish and reptiles. But the main attraction of this zoo is Royal Bengal tiger.You can also have a face to face encounter with this ferocious animal. Yes, this is true but in a motor vehicle who is caged from all over. But for this you have to bought a ticket of rupees 50 per head. I mostly enjoyed this part as I only saw tiger in TV only. So for me this is my best and memorable experience till now.
This place is perfect for a family picnic, specially for your kids. This zoo is surrounded by beautiful views and greenery everywhere and it too has water bodies inside it.
