I had a oppurtunity to travell from guanghzou to Xuzhou near beijing in the month of april 2008 accompanying my friend on a business tour to shandong & Li-yi province in north china.
We both were vegiterians, and our staff at china office had forgoten to mention abt veg meal at the time of booking of tickets in our absence as we were still in India.
At time of boarding flight I took some apple from store at airport as we were going to a remote place and with limited ready to eat food packets with us.
The lunch was being served on board which was all sea food, with great difficulty we explained that we eat only veg food & returned all the food packets served to us. It made us easy to explain them that we are the followers of Buddhism and Dalai Lama, who are pure vegiterian.
As we were feeling hungry, I took out 2 apples from my baggage and requested air hostess to wash it & cut it to pieces. She obligded our request & with in time came back with apples cut along with some apple dice & fresh pastries for both of us. With all the cabin crew we were served our lunch as per our religious sentiments. The jpuney will be remembered as we were new to china with out any interpriter on flight as well the crew did not knew much of English. Only sign language of deaf & dumb helped us to get food on mid-air.
Thanks for the co-operation of cabin crew on CHINA NATIONAL AIRLINES.
