Located in a smug corner at Tardeo, near AC market, above Kachin’s tailor on the first floor sits Chinese Palace. Frequented by a decently regular crowd, mostly Parsis from the nearby Colonies and other communities this restaurant is definitely recommendable. The ambience is friendly and warm and nicely decorated the toilet well maintained too. The lighting is just right, good for a few drinks and approprate to see whats in your plate afterwards. The quantity of food served is quite good and sumptuous and the food itself is tasty. A regular meal for 2 adults and a child of 8-9 years would be approximately Rs.500-600 inclusive of a bottle of beer, cold drinks and dessert which is quite reasonable. The only weak part is the limited range of desserts in choice and taste. The service is polite, well-paced and good guidance is provided in selection of dishes. Having frequented quite some Chinese restaurants, I have reached a conclusion that if you are staying within the vicinity and looking out for good chinese food without burninig a ho-le in your pocket, Chinese Palace is the answer.
