Not my first choice :-(

I have been to Chinese Room a couple of times. Since I grew up in the area, I know most of the restaurants and their menu..lol.

My last trip to Chinese Room was in Summer 2000. This has never been my favourite but a friend insisted on this place. This restaurant is located right under the Kemps Corner Flyover, across from Catwalk Shoes store.

The ambience is good. The place is very clean and the seating arrangement is well laid out. It’s a walk-in type...so there is nobody to escort you to the tables...although the excellent interior makes you feel that this place is the type where you must wait for someone to take you to the table.

We ordered Manchurian soup...(chicken) Since the place was quite full...it took almost 10 minutes for the waiter to bring our soup. The soup had too much salt in it. I did not like it...my friend was Ok with it. Anyway, I pointed it out and the soup was replaced with a less salty one.

We also ordered Chicken crispy rolls..like egg rolls...wasn’t that delIcious either. What else did we order... let me think hmm..Chicken Chilly sauce, which was yucky. And we ordered fried rice. None of the items neither looked good nor had any taste.

We paid Rs. 800 for this!!! And to my horror, that night when I came home and I was checking the bill, I discovered that they charged us for 2 Veg. Manchow soup. (Rs. 120) which we never ordered! Believe me I never check the bill when we go to a restaurant, but I learnt my lesson. I did not ever go back to this restaurant belonging to the Kwality Restaurant Group.
