I had heard accolades about Chingari and everyone was raving about sushmita’s performance. But ultimately when I did see the movie, I didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry. I am an ardent fan of sushmita and her graceful acting; but chingari was just HORRIBLE.
By any standards in the world, ’screaming’ cannot be termed or recognised as good/realistic acting. Sushmita has screamed no end to express her anguish, pain and emotions; yet it doesn’t reach the heart though it is a sore to the ear.
Secondly, I have never seen Sushmita act so unnaturally ever. She sounded so artificial as the illiterate prostitute. Her diction was too refined, her get-up too polished (even her plaits and curls were so much in place!!!)
I had just loved Ila Arun’s singing and yes in some films her acting too! She has tried hard to be realistic in this film too but has failed miserably. Munching ’’Paan’’ nonstop and showing cleavage doesnt make you a ’’madam’’ of prostitutes; and her close ups showed what bad work the makeup artist has done!
Even the love brewing between sushmita and anuj is so half-baked.. lacking conviction.
Mithun tries hard to be villianous and lecherous; but emerges just a drunkard -both figuratively and literally. Mithunda please get back to acting.

PAHLEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZE GIVE UP MAKING MOVIES IF THIS IS YOUR CRITERIA OF A GOOD FILM. Please understand -THE AUDIENCE IS NOT STUPID - gaudy makeup, abusive and gross language; boringly loooooooong uninteresting bedroom scenes and obnoxiously irksome climax (READ : anticlimax) DO NOT MAKE A GOOD FILM.
