Will it be gas or electric

I don’t know how fair this review will be considering that I have never owned a gas range. I have cooked on several but I don’t like them.

My parents live in the foothils where there are no gas lines, just propane gas or electric services. Being cost effective my parents have always used the propane gas for cooking. It has been my experience that gas cooks hotter than the electric ranges and can’t be controlled as well.

When I go married, I wasn’t much of a cook so at that time if you had told me that gas was better I would have believed you. Today and millions of meals later I can say that a electric range is the only way to go.

I have always bought my larger appliances from Sears, for me I think that they sell only the top products.

The first range that I ever bought was a self cleaning range and oven. I didn’t like the self cleaning options at all. After all is said and done you still have to wipe out the oven even after you have cleaned it so what is the point of having a self cleaning oven.

For me I have found that the electric range gives you a wider degree of control. If you want to cook stir fry, turn up the heat. When cooking delicate foods you need a very low heat and that is easy to obtain on a electric stove but not so with a gas stove. I am forever turning off the gas.

I also believe that it is more cost effective to have an electric stove. The price of gas keeps going up and up where the price of electricity hasn’t gone up as much.

A lot of thought needs to go in to what it is that you like when buying a range.
