On 10th Sept I had taken my mother to a dermatologist named Dr Rikh at Janakpuri, Delhi. One injection was given to my mother and some medicines were offered by him. On asking to write the name of injection as well as of medicine on the prescription he refused to do so. Neither cash memo was provided for injection/ medicine for which he charged extra in addition of consultation fee.
He writes that he is “Bachelor in Integrated Medicine and Surgery” and a post graduate scholar. Most of us are used to see the degrees acquired by doctors, so on asking about his PG qualification(i.e branch) he refused to say anything & annoyed and asked to not take his treatment, if I don’t have faith in him.
Outside of his chamber from a certificate shows that he is member of Delhi bhartiya chikitsa parishad.A doctor who dont write( infact hide) his qualification and get annoyed on asking about his qualification must be fraud. I am thinking to go to consumer forum.
Just think of:Whether based on given qualification can he be called as dermatologist, as he is claiming?
Whether it is not compulsory to write medical qualification on either of prescription/ visiting card/ clinic?Whether a Unani/ Homeopathy practitioner can provide injection or medicine without writing on prescription and can charge for same without providing cash memo.
