I was amazed to hear from a dealer that none of the Stainless steel Indian Pressure cookers has ISI stamping.
I was wondering as when a stainless steel tablespoon and filthy comb has ISI mark why not pressure cookers.
The dealer also added that only Indalium pressure cookers have ISI stamping. for e.g Prestige etc.
Also it seems Hawkins, which is the most sold cooker in india, has no ISI too. They are thermodynamically designed ones that answers the huge price difference between them and others in the market. These days the customers are flooded with umpteen brads, fortunately few are good too like Premier, Peacock. The later is though quite new to market, it is very good value for the money. Many of the Indian Pressure cookers are exported to South east and Far east countries like SIngapore, Hongkong, Vietnam and to Srilanka. Indians living in US and UK and other parts of europe also buys them a lot. By and large as for as the brand and reliability goes it is TTK goups PRESTIGE is no.1 in the Peninsular India and Hawkins in the rest.
