Aisi AC kahan?

Okay, I was very much surprised to find this concept on MS, but before I write down something, lemme elaborate.

Before I went into the media, I worked for a Multinational company, which had a hand in air conditioners too, and well, I was a counter sales staff there.

Anyway, we were told a lot of things during our training session, I’ll explain:

First off, there are two kinds of compressors in an AC. Rotary compressor, and Reciprocating compressor. Now, the bane of taking a assembled air conditioner is that they always put in the reciprocating compressor, which takes in much more units of current than the rotary compressor, that’s a fact, other than the warranty, free service and other perks you get from owning a branded air conditioner, so throw out the idea of saving some money and buying a assembled air conditioner, you’ll pay the same and more, in the electricity bills.

Now, to choose between a split AC and a window AC, look at the size of the room you wish to install the AC in. ACs come in one ton, one and a half tonne, and two tonne.

If I remember correct, a one tonne AC is enough for something ninety to one hundred and ten sq ft.

(An interesting thing, have you ever wondered what the feck is the tonnage of a air conditioner? Well it’s the units of AIR that can be filled in that particular place, that means, around one tonne of AIR can be filled in a one hundred square feet area, (roughly)).

If you have anything about three hundred square feet of area, you are looking at a proper split AC, if not, at the most, a two tonne window AC.

Now, on to the products..

The AC market is a very competitive markets, like all markets. Even so, the themes on which the products are sold are broadly based as:

  1. Quality.

  2. Features.

By quality, I mean an air conditioner which can be operated, economically even by my grandma, and by features, I mean an air conditioner that can THINK that I need it to shut down and it shuts down.

Like everything in life, you can’t the best of both worlds, and therefore, you have to choose between two products:

Hitachi Logicool series and Carrier.

Fair warning: The rest of the ACs, like Whirlpool, Kenstar, Videocon are worthless and just about useless, Whirlpool has a THERMOCOL body inside it, whereas it should be thin metal, Videocon wrongly prints that it has some air cleaning thing in it, and then after SELLING and INSTALLING, it is found that it’s available only in 1.5 tonnage of ACs, which hasnt even been MANUFACTURED till now. (As on two years back, I don’t know about the current situation.)

Well, if you want a proper air conditioner, with a lot many features, like well, many features, cost saving features, comfort giving features, then you can always go for Hitachi Logicool i, the beauty in your hall.

If you want a proper beast of an air conditioner, which will salon salon saal chale, and basically keep your cool during summer, you can take any of Carrier’s models, they will keep you very cool.

WARNING: DO NOT BUY LG AIR CONDITIONERS, THEY ARE A PIECE OF CRAP.
