Why koreans make ACs and not nuclear missiles ?

Why do koreans make acs?

why do they make anything at all that has more technology than a hand spun shawl I ask?

why don’t they follow their north korean brethren and perish in isolation without springing their cankaterous goods on unsuspecting homo sapiens?

why do indians believe that koreans are ahead of them in the race of man’s evolution from ape to robot?

they can only make missiles and fission products with unworthy of mention half-lives - borne of the involuntary propulsive force of gunpowder.

why did they make this ac and why did I buy it? because it was cheap. only, I wasn’t prepared for its cheapness.

they are not only cheap they are shameless too.

my one year old samsung window ac has always been in and out of icu like a sickly, premature infant since I brought it into my house.

within a month of arrival, its swivelling motor and compressor wrapped up, after giving adequate warning by not cooling for several days. luckily for me, I had saved the invoice and they changed the condenser being in warranty - not the swivelling motor though.

now, in the second summer season, it ushered in the heat by again refusing to cool. a visit from an indifferent service person unveiled  the profound diagnosis that the ac needed life saver support in the form of gas filling which would cost me a tidy sum of 2500 bucks.

ok, take it, I said.

after an hour the super-specialist at the service centre revised the prognosis to the  condenser requiring transplant, at a very reasonable cost of 6000 bucks.

I ask myself, what other parts are there in an ac, over and above the condenser, the compressor and the motor? I mean what else can go wrong. not much else I am told- except the fan, and its handsome looks.

I write an email to ceo, and to everybody else listed in their directory- from top to bottom, asking them why they are in the business of making acs if they can’t get the basics right? they explain to me patiently, ‘ it’s an electronic item, right’?

‘well, why  i didn’t think of it like that? ‘ I wonder. perhaps I am old school that’s why.

I did not know it was old fashioned to expect things to deliver service in exchange of hard earned cash. if it’s electronics and if it’s korean, my friend, I am told by ceo office it is unreasonable to expect anything at all!

my acerbic mail to them elicited no more than an indifferent shrug.’ just too bad, buddy’, replied the maid at ceo office( since no one else has any time as they are busy making “electronics”).

I also have a story about the flimsy samsung note and tab. one slip and their screens cracked leaving me with a bill of 50% of the original cost. ‘electronics’ again, didn’t you know pal?

the details of the flawed transaction in case anybody is interested  are:-

‘ac ser no.  b077p2bb400256  model aw 183 kc, from m/s amba air-cool vide invoice no aa/176 dt 20 apr 12’.

my advice: don’t buy electronics. don’t buy korean. unless it’s a nuclear missile.
