The best player (to keep you rocking)

In this article I’ve tried to examine to best Player available the market. All of the(best ones) players are available for free, hence only the free ones are reviewed. To make the review simple and easy to go through the positives and negatives have been listed with brief explanation, where ever necessary.

** Windows Media Player 9 **

Pros –

1 Great skinning capability

2 Easy and stunning interface

3 Wide array of support for different file types

4 Absolutely the best for video playback

5 Easy control and navigation

6 Supports WMA(only available in Windows players)

7 Amazing visualizations to go along with the song

8 Great as a radio tuner

9 Good organization and library support

10 Great Cd ripping and burning features

Cons –

1 Slow to start

2 Radio search is not very impressive

3 Play list’s usage is a little tough in compare to other players

Overall score: 8.5/10 Great for Playing Video

** Winamp 3.0 **

Pros –

1 Straight forward player

2 Great skinning capabilities

3 sleek and easy to use

4 Wide array of add-ons and plug-in available

5 Play list easy to use and well organized

6 Cool visualizations of great variety

7 Highly configurable

Cons –

1 slow to startup in compare to earlier versions

2 Video playback and features very poor

3 Extra features unavailable

Overall score: 7.5/10 Great for Playing audio

** Real Player **

Pros-

1 The best interface

2 Easy of use

3 Good radio capabilities

4 Neat and organized

Cons-

1 Very slow

2 Some what cumbersome

3 Extra features need you to sign up i.e.: pay fees

Overall score: 5/10 More funkier but less usable

** QuickTime Player **

Pros-

1 Plays quicktime format

2 Great for the internet

cons -

1 sick interface and design

2 plays only quick time

Overall Score: 4.5/10
