Every one of us has a best friend of some sort, whether it’s a male or female, spouse, parent or sibling. Buying gifts for your friend can sometimes be a hard thing to do and yet sometimes you see something that you just know is the right thing to buy.
Friends are like flowers, they have to be fed and watered for the friendly relationship to grow. Just like marriage! Here are some of the gifts that I have bought for my best friends over time or have received from my best friends.
Candles
Most any kind of scented candles. But I love the Beeswax Candles the most. They last longer and they look the nicest I think. They are a little more costly but worth it! You can put them all over the home, but I mostly use them in the kitchen and bathroom. They come in all sorts of sizes and colors. Burn time is around 15 hours. And they make a great gift as well.
Candles can be for centerpieces for the dinning room table or the end table. You can also display them in the bathrooms and bedrooms. They really make a nice touch in the guest bedroom. Also, you can make an arrangement and give away as a door prize at various functions during the holidays. Most ladies love winning them! And the natural honey scent is just right for any home.
A Syrup Dispenser
Another gift that I gave my friend and myself for that matter was Glass Syrup Dispenser. They come in different sizes and with colored lids. They have the latch tops that slide, which make for an easy usage. My grandmother had one, which I have now and it is over 70 years old. I don’t use it much anymore because of it’s age. They are great for mixing salad dressings, pouring pancake batter, cake batter for cupcakes, mixing a gravy mixture and so much more. My friend and I compare notes all the time with ours! And of course syrup is great as well.
Cookie Cutters
Of course since my best friend has children of her own I have found that cookie cutters make a great gift. This is a gift that helps to bring the children and her together. Making cookies are lots of fun but are more fun when the little ones help.
You can get all kinds of cookie cutters from metal to plastic. They come in all shapes and designs and are easily taken care of for the most part. You can also let the toddlers in the home play with the plastic ones.
The Common Gifts
Of course there is always the perfume and make up routes to go. Women do love these things you know. Clothes are also a great idea but be sure you understand your best friends taste in getting these items. Hair items make great little gifts along with dust collectors for the home.
Magazine subscriptions are a nice gift as well. Then the two of you can share the ideas that come in the ladies magazines. A girl’s day out to go shopping and lunch are always great things to do for your best friend. Catch a movie while you are out.
Sometimes a simple card in the mail or a small bouquet of flowers is just what the best friend needed. And sometimes a hug is all that is required.
The Most Important Gift
Certainly your shoulder to lean on is the best gift of all. This is the truest gift that one person can give another. You should be there for them when they need a good cry or just need someone to talk to. You should be there when they are sick and need help with the home and the cooking or errands. You should be there to watch the kids when she and hubby want to go out for dinner. You should be there in her time of need whenever possible.
This is a gift from the heart that is not always easy to give. People have the tendency to not open up to others anymore. It’s really hard to do this. People are vulnerable to others and don’t want to be hurt. So, if you give this gift of love from the heart you are a true best friend!
There are many gifts out there to give to the best friend. Pretty much what you would buy for yourself or another relative whether that friend is a man or a woman. Life is certainly to short to not have a best friend that you can do things for.
My husband is also my best friend and doing the little things for him like getting the cup of coffee, fixing his lunch each day, laying out his clothes on Sunday for Church, rubbing his back and many other things are all part of my love for him and his being my best friend.
