Giving your wife a gift is not a simple proposition. So please do not take it lightly - unless you want fall flat on your face after spending a whole lot of money! So let us list down the possible items that men generally gift and see the Risk and Reward ratio for each.
- A Rose / A bouquet of flowers:*
Budget: Upto Rs 100
If you want to gift your wife flowers, do not wait for an’event’. Just Do it! Women love flowers anytime anywhere - especially if they are given spontaniously and unexpectedly.
Risk: None
Reward: She will love the unexpected love that you have shown. This will re emphasize that you think of her everyday - not only on special days!
- Chocolates:*
Budget: Upto RS 300
Chocolates and women have a love-hate relationship. Women love it when they are eating it, and hate it when it adds to their hips! Then agian - "A moment on your lips, forever on your hips" is a well known saying. Gift chocolates to your woman - she will love it. You must know her taste in chocolates before you buy them(Does she like Milky, normal, Dark, swiss blah blah).
Risk: Do not go overboard with chocolates. If she puts on weight, you will have some answering to do!
Reward: Most women will love the sweet taste of chocolates. It is a nice inexpensive gift which shows that you care. Plus you can eat it too:)
- Evening dress / Jeans / T Shirt:
*Budget: Upto Rs 3000
A woman can never have enough clothes. They love dressing up and if you get them something nice, they will love you for it.
Risk: God save you if you do not know her size.
Too Big: "Do you really think I am that fat?"
Too Small: "You were right. I am as fat as a cow!"
Reward: You may get to take it off too;)
- A sexy night dress / lingerie / sexy nighties -*
Budget: Upto Rs 3000
Getting her sexy lingerie is generally a good idea. Get her something that suits her body type and get the right size.
So if she is a large woman - do not get her tiny bits and pieces that look funny on her.
Similarly, if nature has not been generous to her, do not get her lingerie in which she floats around.
The idea is to get her lingerie of her current size - not her desired size!:)
Risk: God save you if you do not know her size. Take the trouble(Should it be a pleasure?) of going through her lingerie and check the sizes that she currently wears(take a sample to the shop - if necessary).
Reward: You will definitely get to take it off;)
5**. Perfumes:*
Budget: Upto Rs 5000
Women love perfumes and it is very difficult for you to go wrong here. Go to a mall and get her an international brand. Then go to the internet and get some understanding regarding the brand. While gifting her the perfume, go "Elizabeth Arden is the global leaders.Did you know Ms.XXX wore Elizabeth Arden?" You gift plus the reading up on internet will show her how much you care about her.
Risk: If she is very loyal to any perfume brand(wears it over the years), get that one. No Risk.
Reward: A lovey dovey wife!
- Diamond sets/Gold sets:*
Budget: Upto Rs 20000
Damn! You have a budget of Rs 20000 and you are reading this review? Get her a diamond set!*
Tips When you are planning to gift her something:*
*Ask around:** Ask her friends what she likes, ask the perfume salesman which is the best selling brand, ask her mother if she wants a particular dress.
*Listen to her****:** Pay attention to what she is saying, what she likes, what she wants.
*Think Back:** Try to remember is she has been talking about anything in particular lately.
*Plan and Research Ahead:** Without giving her any hints, plan for the gift well ahead of D Day. Do your research well, go to a few shops, visit sites online.
*Put in some effort:** Put in some time, thought, and effort.
*Try to make it "Special" -** The way you pakage the gift matters. Try to buy something’one of a kind’. Plan the way you give it to her(add some drama, mystery)
*Surprise Her:** Do not give her hints about the gift. Surprise her!
