For traveling everyone needs lodging/ boarding facilities. It adds to your comfort, rather it changes your travel log totally if not chosen properly. It totally heals your mood if you are placed at reasonably comfortable rooms and surrounding, may be for even 2/3 days. It’s my beautiful memory that I stayed at Hotel Paradise for two days at Kodai Kanal and so I can make such statement. I still wish to remember those two days I spent with my family there. Mind becomes fresh and I get recharged even to see the pictures of Kodai Kanal taken once upon a time. Credit goes to Hotel Paradise !!
On the contrary I remember (as the case may be with you about some place) where we had to manage somehow only one day. It was some private Delhi hotel which was totally mess and congested with no infrastructure. No lights on the night we were there and had to manage with candles we carried with us. We were literally punished I think for not searching or choosing nice place on that evening. I just don’t want to keep its memories. Its not that Delhi doesn’t have nice hotels. It was our mistake that we didn’t book any room at nice hotel in advance and suddenly dropped there. We could have gone to ITDC’s hotel. I am specifically mentioning this incidence so that everyone reading will avoid such mistake.
ITDCs are nice hotels everywhere in India plus every state I think have their own like MTDC in Maharashtra or KTDC in Karnataka. Being from Pune in Maharashtra I have come across MTDC hotels I found KTDC infrastructural facilities upto the mark at Ooty.
There are many many private hotels in all big cities which travel agents know very well. We can take their help while planning for travel or if you know persons already undertaken travel to that place can be of great help as with personal experiences and he/she can guide you to take precautions or avoid mistakes which he/she made while choosing hotels. Cost-benefit ratio can be known from such persons ( I think we have many MSian friends who travel often- M2M can be availed instead repenting afterwards).
Web search can be undertaken to know tariffs phone nos., address and facilities offered at the hotels. Many hotel have room service facilities and some have their own dining halls. Many good hotels have shopping stores to get easily the things for which that place is famous. I remember here ITDC store from Jaipur-pink city (Rajasthan) where I could purchase nice stones for necklace which are unique.
Living at nice places definitely add to the beauty of the place we are inclined to enjoy as it changes our mood and attitude towards the place. So, friends, make your trip a unforgettable one by choosing right hotel at right time i.e.while planning.
