Priyadarshan’s latest release Chupchupke is good .... no .....wait ..... read it as ok urrrrr........... no wait again .... I mean just ok
This movie is like a student who starts his studies with a bang & raises expections & then barely manages to pass.
In Chup chupke first half is fine with Rajpal Yadav stealing the show while second half is quite poor & that makes it avarage film & some times even boring.
Jeet(Shahid Kapoor) is a guy who has tried his hands in many a business but without any success.And thus he is indebted to many people so to repay them he commits suicide.
How will he repay by commiting suicide ? Ohhh that is quite simple......... actually insurance company will pay Jeet’s parents & from that money his father will repay the money borrowed by Jeet.
But Jeets fails to die & story begins ..........
Then he meets Paresh Rawal( Boat Owner: Gundya) & Rajpal Yadav( Bandya:Gunndya’s servent)
What happens next is Chup chupke.............
Rajpal Yadav still manages to make us laugh & to some extent Paresh Rawal too succeeds in doing that .
Shahid Kapoor is ok as Jeet but Jeet’s role is not challenging enough to test his mettle as an actor .
Om Puri disappoints as Chauhan( I am not sure if he is playing a Gujrati character or Bengali , if someone manages to find out please let me know.)
Suniel Shetty as Mangal: possesive brother of Kareenna Kapoor is ok
Kareena Kapoor & Neha Dhupia are good in what they have got to play.
Let us not discuss about music.
In short it is neither a laughter riot nor a serious drama , it falls somewhere in between.
