Shona Urvashi’s Chupke Se is entertaining in parts. But the lead lady & un impressive climax makes its position behind Rules & Joggers Park
The Plot
The Story revolves with a college girl from a middle class family who has high ambitions in life meets a multi Millionaire boy accidentally falls in love with him.
The Cast
Om Puri takes full marks in the acting department
Dilip Prabhavalkar plays his part safe.
Zulfi Syed has done justice to his role
although Masumi gets a meaty rolein her debut film she just manages to give an average performance.
Rati Agnihotri, Tinnu Anand, Raman Lamba also leaves a mark.
Cyrus dosen’t impress.
The Crew
The Music of the film is impressive with “Kajra re Kajra Re” by Daler Mehendi standing out. “, “Koi to Ho” by Udit & Alka is a sweet number, “Jeele Jeele” by KK & team appeals the masses. The Cinematography is up to the mark & Editing is crisp. The Screenplay with witty onliners are well penned in the first half and till the Climax the film moves in the right track. Climax is not impressive.
The Director
Shona Urvashi has succeeded in creating a clean entertainer for the family audience with out adding any masala to it. The major drawback of the film being newcomers in the lead cast and an average performance from the lead lady Masumi (Sister of Shona Urvashi). The Director has proved that she is capable of handling Comedy subjects. Although the Climax of the film is disappointing with the character played by Rati going overboard. She had tried to bring out the reality behind the Fashion/Glamour world by adding some comic spice to it.
Overall
Chupke se is a clean entertainer with some hilarious situations created by Om Puri & Dilip Prabhavalkar. The director looses her control over the script towards the end which if avoided would have made Chupke Se a much better Product.
