CIDADE DE GOA means City of Goa in portuguese and indeed this luxurious 5 -Star resort spread in acres of verdant green is paradise on earth. It has the beach at its back door, where waves curl up to tickle your feet, enticing you to play with it. Here you can enjoy, world class cuisine in any of its seven restaurants. There is also a separate kitchen for the vegetarian food. This is specially to accommodate of travellers like me.
They hotel management has been successful in giving a large Hotel a feeling of a small family run place. I think that happy go lucky Goans may be rated as one of the best hosts in india.
Bordering the beach are 25 acres of extensive lawns with natural trails, hammocks, garden restaurants, tennis courts and a health farm. It has around 200 centrally air-conditioned rooms, conference areas, health club, Swimming Pools, Jogging track etc. The ambience is ideal for a relaxed and enjoyable Holiday or even a Conference.
The Casa room is designed to make you feel at home. Just like the Portuguese saying, ’’Mea casa, tua casa’’ - my home, your home. Owing to its unique location, many rooms have an magnificent view of the Arabian sea.
one of my favourite place in the resort is casino. just go with the intention of losing and you will have loads of fun. Besides that there are tennis courts, kids club, beach volleyball, massage parlour and water sports club. You name it and they have it. Its like a mini Goa itself.
Serenaders, limbo dancers and other live entertainment will add to the jovial atmosphere in the evening. You just dont feel like going out of the resort.
Food connoisseurs will relish at different restaurants serving various cuisines and delicacies. They have Dekhni for Goan food, Miramar, Alfama - speciality restaurant which chalks the spice route taken by Vasco Da Gama and serves food available at the places visited by the famous sailor, La Goa Azul, Barbeque and 24-hour coffee shop. They also have 3 different bars serving exotic drinks.
However I must add that they need to improve upon their room service and house-keeping.
Cidade de Goa also offers a lot of activities for action and adventure. It has water sports club with Parasailing, Water Skiing, Windsurfing, Jet Speed Boats and lots of exciting water rides. Besides there is PADI certified diving club.
