Ideal romantic getaway

We wanted to spend our 2nd wedding anniversary in Goa because it’s a perfect time to enjoy the rains there. Cidade De Goa seemed to be perfect choice. It’s a self-sufficient resort with a pool and a private beach.

After a little search we managed to get the deal which included an all inclusive 3 meal couple package at about Rs, 18, 000 for 3 nights 4 days. The hotel is secluded and does not have anything close by to do. But if you walk up the slope to the main road you will find a Taxi Stand from where you can go across to other parts. They don’t negotiate but I think they offered some decent rates.

The management & staff is always smiling and willing to help you around the resort with any services or information that you may need. A single line service call means you just dial "0" and they will take care of any of your needs - be it housekeeping or room service. I forgot my sunglasses in the tourist bus when we did the city tour. They were quick and efficient to call the bus driver and have him drive back to the hotel to drop off my glasses. Appreciated.

The rooms are nicely done up and the air-conditioning is a chill and we wondered what kept the room so cold all the time. Housekeeping did a fair job and we didn’t have any complaints. The rooms are spacious and allow enough free space for movement. A well-stocked mini-bar is also available at some decent rates.

Food is pure bliss at Cidade. A large spread invites you at all 3 meals. A good mix of Indian, continental and Chinese does not disappoint you at any time. Desserts are yum too and if you like something simple then choose one of the 6 flavored ice-creams. A kid-friendly place they had special food items to keep the little ones busy around there. We saw that they even had special cutlery for the kids to help the parents feed kids in the most fun way.

The hotel does not offer a pickup/drop if you are traveling by train which I thought was a bit unfair. Also the city tour offered is a kind of bore - churches, one temple and some boring museum. totally avoidable stuff. I strongly recommend this hotel for families, honeymoon couples, friends or even business off-sites.
