A truly inspiring movie.

Based in the early 30s this movie is the story of James J Braddock (Russell Crowe) also known as Jim- a boxer who went on to be a Hero.

Renée Zellweger plays Mae Braddock (Jim’s wife) and Paul Giamatti plays the role of Jim’s manager.

I strongly recommend this movie to every serious movie buff. You will enjoy this movie whether you watch it alone, with friends or a loved one. The story will melt your heart and the action sequences though short will have you jumping in your seat.

This is not a ‘Rocky’ kind of film – this here is a surefire Oscar winner. It is one of the few movies made that has an all-round good feeling to it. The performance by Russell Crowe is in a word mind-blowing. In my humble opinion, it is he who has really made this film on that will be remembered many year from now.

I am not a big boxing fan, and apart from the great man – Muhammad Ali – I am at most unfamiliar with the other boxing legends. Thanks to this movie, many more like me will be truly inspired.

Paul Giamatti brings in his comic expertise into the movie. Here is a fellow that you can laugh at by just looking at him! His enormous enthusiasm in backing James at all times will truly have you admiring the little guy.
