After watching umpteen 3D Films at all most all popular theaters in Mumbai, my experience at Cinemax Vashi will be something I will never forget. How can I after all I ended up spending Rs 500 on the ticket (Gold class rate), Rs 200 on the food (one tub of popcorn and jumbo sandwich) and Rs 40 on the Glasses (Which is a Joke.;.) what I got in return was severe Headache and sweat soaked Kurta.
Yes.. thats my experience of Daring ...ya daring to watch a movie at Cinemax, Vashi. Right from the lack of monitoring on who occupies which seat to shoddy food service everything about the theater was in a state of amiss.
While I chose to pay Rs 500 for the gold class, rather intelligent gentleman opted for the most viable course of simply switching his seats over in the dark , thanks to lack of any monitoring by the management.
Nevertheless I stretched myself on the recliner along with my husband to watch the movie and behold the 3D film commenced but the glasses did little justice to the effect. I realized that it was lot more easier to watch he film with the glasses on my Head and I was not the only one to take this course of action.. Most of the audience were forced to do the same. (it was sight in itself..3D glasses on movie watchers heads).
Even if as I was willing to adjust (mumbai chalta hain attitude) it was the dismal sound quality that added to my two hour hardship.. ( I am not even able to recollect the exact film duration). JOkes, intense dialogues mouthed by the Hollywood stars was never understood. Did the agony end there.. certainly NO. The screen comprising of just handful of movie watchers was heating up. ( My idea of carrying a pull over incase it got too cold for comfort came across to be another Joke of the evening).
After jogging in between the movie up and down the stairs to exchange the glasses for a better one (that rendered more or less the same result) and to order food before interval, I was forced to count the minutes left to move out of the theater considering I have paid a bomb.
Complaining to Manager didnt bring about any result either except for a staff huffing his way up to my seat during the last 30 minutes of the movie only to hand over a new 3D glass... that was of no use as by that time I had lost complete interest in the film and had began casting the best Hindi actor for the Bollywood sequel of the Hollywood film.
ACs temperature was never turned up because as per the manager two rows of audience was like a crowd that was taking time for the AC to cool its surrounding. (Ha ha ah)... Was I happy or not to come out of the theater.. thanks to the one km long sachets of mouth freshener given free of cost by the promoter worked as some solace to Rs 700 I had just lost...
Caution.. DO NOT WATCH MOVIE AT VASHI CINEMAX...
