I use this card for almost an year. I used the Indian oil card. Primary reason was that I wanted to buy petrol on credit without paying the fees. Now generally this facility is bieng provided on many cards. One day when I am checking the my card statement online, I see an OCL charge and an account maintenance charge. I was informed that card was free for first year, then why this maintenance charge??? ANyways after mailing the customer care they give some dumb copy paste answer they have. Then finally I have to call them up and ask them to reverse the charges. Account maintenance charges are reversed by adjusting them from my points and for OCL charge I was told thats coz of going Over Credit Line, so they charged me 300 bucks for that. I said first why did u not inform me of this charge in some mailer of yours. I read all the charges document but dont remember seeing it anywhere. And secondly my card was blocked when it reached over credit line, , then why the charge?? if u r charging me then let me take some extra credit atleast....Got everything sorted out At last.... Then the cust. care executive was hell bent on enrolling me for citialerts ( paid service), that I cleanly refused. Coz I have other card with more benifit and would use that. One fine day another person calls me from citibank offering me free insurance beniifits. They said they will charge me just 1.5% on my outstanding amount for every month. If I have no outstanding, then nothing is charged. After lot of deliberation and talks I was able to find out from her the definition of outstanding. It was whatever amount u had on ur card at month end.....Had I fallen in her trap then wud have ended up coughing extra money for nothing, ..this is MISINFORMATION and cheating, , i just detest it. Then after the first year they call me saying that I am eligible for the gold card. When I agree and ask them to send me one they take all the docs and after one month say that I m not eligible.....THIS IS JUST FUNNY, , , I exceed thier criteria and had no outstanding or late payments on my card in the 1 year with them. Anyways now I have closed the card as wanted no more tension. One card is just enuf for me...thats ABN AMRO for now..
