By far the worst service provider of all the banks. These guys hire the best of staff, some of them are from real good background but as a whole the bank stinks.
Two incidences I would like to share:
I had returned from a overseas job and moved to pune with my new job. So I decided to transfer my bankers from delhi to pune. This took me too citibank at east street. I walked in and asked them to open an account for me and transfer the money via bankers cheque which I was carrying payable at pune. These guys took all the relevant documents and proofs etc and finally (the last straw) this dame asked me for a work permit. I asked her why the hell would I require a work permit to transfer money from one Indian bank to another. She insisted so I left and opened an account with ICICI bank which took me flat 20 minutes.
After a year my new work place in pune opened a salary account(suvidha they call it)
so I was forced to bank with these scoundrels. Within a few months better sense prevailed and my accounts guys switched bank as all the employees were being taken for a ride sometime or the other and the personnel department were getting lambasted from all sides.
Now yesterday I get a credit card statement at my residence with an amount of Rs 942/-, for a credit card which I have never seen or heard of prior to that date. I call up their customer care(call centre-another feather to India’s crown) and they tell me the card was delivered to me personally. I laughed sarcastically and told them to cancel the card anyway after they verified all the details about me which I guess they got from my bank account details.
Hopefully that gets done. Just to make sure I wrote a e-mail to them via my internet banking site and repeated the same so that I have proof of the whole matter legally.
guess what a guy comes to my workplace today named Sidharth and offers me a citi-gold card for free. I really missed my bsa air rifle as I was at work and not at home. God knows what I said to him but within a second the security was pushing him out of the entrance. So please take utmost care when you bank with these guys, though I believe their internet banking is good and other services which a lot of people claim to be good.
