MOVIE Review: CLASH OF THE TITANS

Recommendation: Only for Hardcore Hollywood’s Fantasy lovers( full of special effects)

“MYTHOlogical” may have derived from two words MYTH + LOGICAL i.e. thou we believe in the GOD & DEMONS and their Super Natural Powers but still there lies some logical sequence in the stories we heard. But Clash of the Titans (2010) is an exception in that. Only begging on high class animation; the story fails to hold as the screenplay is full of potholes.
Clash of the Titans is not a story of clash between GOD and Demons or Good v/s Evil as such rather it’s a clash of GOD and its creation i.e. Human Beings. This was basically the clash of the egoism of Men and GOD; as GOD blessed MEN with life and Men in return offered their Prayers to the GOD which made them strong.
The King of ARGOS ordered his soldiers to destroy the huge statue of God ZEUS on the sea side to prove his supremacy over God. As a result HADES- the God of the underworld rose from the sea and destroy all the soldiers and warned the king to sacrifice his daughter Andromeda on the destination day to save the ARGOS from the KRAKEN –The Sea Monster. PARSEUS –The lead hero who has survived the Hades’ attack and lived as a fisherman’s boy since birth suddenly discovered that he is the Half God and Half MEN as the Hades denotes him as the Son of the Zeus and thus to be a hero he has decided to save princess and challenge God.
The director had taken the liberties the way Indian directors do while showing a dance sequence in New York when the movie is actually based on Mumbai ; Louis Leterrier has shown a handful of soldiers walking all over the world i.e. deserts;jungles; craters;sea on FOOT!! Funny isn’t( I mean no proper justification shown on how they have crossed those inaccessible regions which director has shown in the movie and that too in Just 10 days which they have to complete their journey and returned back ) and to defend our arguments director has shown Mountain size Scorpios as a fun ride. The funnier is when Parseus bought one fish for his colleagues in a semi- jungle region where there was no water around as such (may be everything need not to be shown :)) and also when he showed the MEDUSA’s head to Kraken which turned the monster into stone.
The movie has a ton of characters but not justification example group of DJINN and two hunters who joined the Parseus against God. Most of the characters in the movie appeared and vanished without making any special contribution. After movie like Avtaar; this is a bit disappointing from the Hollywood Studios. I recommend to watch 1981 Classic with the same name and you will cherish the originality..
