Planet Mouthshut has been invaded by an army ofa new race known as the Clearocks. Do they come in Peace, are they here to help us or are they here to colonize usand enslave our minds into buying com their products and becoming their down linein their food chain??????..... Ok just kidding. What I have noticed is a barrage of reviews on Clearock products. Then Inoticed that all of them have entered their website address ashttps://clearock.in/username. I visited the main site to find out thatClearock is a "hybrid marketing" Venture. At first glance it appearsto be another MLM (multi Level Marketing) or a network marketing company. (Infact it is, but is also much more) What is this Hybrid Marketing? This is a combination of almost all person to person marketing techniques thatinclude: Viral Marketing Display Marketing Direct sales Referral Marketing Internet marketing Franchising I am not here to actually write a review on the working of the company butrather how this company and its members might affect Mouthshut.com What interested me is Viral Marketing Viral marketing seeks to exploit pre-existing social networks to market andpromote various products and services. It is word-of-mouth delivered online viavarious sorts of Internet-based stealth marketing campaigns, including the useof blogs, "disguised" amateur web sites, and posting"genuine" reviews in consumer review websites to create word of mouthfor a new product or service. Often the ultimate goal of viral marketingcampaigns is to generate buzz via "offbeat" stories which is moreeffective than conventional methods of advertising. Viral marketing has its drawbacks though. One of the main drawback is listedbelow: Sabotage: Especially in the case of "Undercover" style marketingcampaigns, the discovery of the marketing nature of a popular campaign maycause the same social networks to inform people of the commercial intent of thememe, and promote a formal or informal boycott of the company or product inquestion. It work effectively with MLM or network marketing companies where they form a"mutual" group and can give credibility to each other in their"stealth" marketing campaigns that target blogs and consumer review websites. I have nothing against Clearock. My only concern is the reliability of thereview. One of the reviews of Oleo Zapp was advertising at the end of hisreview. From the review I understand that it is indeed a very good product, butit not maintaining at least two standards of writing a review on mouthshut.com 1.Share your true experience 2.Avoid personal information (email, phone number, address). These are the explicit ones. According to my notion I don’t think Mouthshut.comand its members approve of using our community as a marketing vehicle for aNetwork marketing company. Ah I forgot to mention in what way it is a network marketing company becauseapart from earning off the products you sell you even get "Referral earnings"which is the ultimate aim of these companies. Now like all Network marketing companies like Gold Quest and Amway (not thatmuch) their products cost more than the normal market price. The Oleo Zapp cost 699rupees, whereas a similar product cost 499 rupees and ifyou buy 12 units you get a 25% discount. https://shopping.indiatimes.com/ism/faces/tiles/product.jsp?productID=976172&am p;catalogueID=195102&categoryID=924726&parentCategoryID= I am not giving any verdict or shunning Clearock as a scam. Unlike Gold Questwhich is a scam, Clearock seems to be more like Amway where there is an actualselling going on and some of the products are very unique and are exclusiveonly to their respective companies. I would like to voice my concern over the reliability of the reviews by thesemembers as the reviews are actually copies from the product literature and thefrom "customer testimonials" supplied to them with their start upkit. Well I think that drawback that mentioned is really true about viral marketingso I am here to expose this viral marketing and "sabotage" it. ;-) Well I would like to add that the review is not about the products as some ofthe products sound good. The review is about the spirit of Mouthshut.com as aconsumer review site. Mouthshut is not meant to be used as a marketing vehiclefor any product or network marketing company not matter how good the productsare.
