Just use some other site with more integrity

So I booked my ticket to Singapore a day before my travel on Cleartrip, and when my meeting was pushed to later that week I had to reschedule my flight, so I called Cleartrip.


After putting me through a 45 minute call I was sent a link to pay Rs 4700 odd towards the rescheduling fees, which I paid around 3pm that day. I went ahead and rescheduled my hotels etc and at 7 PM I get a call from an arrogant person saying the cancellation couldn’t be done and that the Rs 4700 I paid would be refunded to me. I was pissed a bit, but I went ahead and booked another ticket and cancelled the one I booked that day deciding to take the loss.


The refund of Rs 4700 came in a few days time, but I had to do a lot of follow up calls each lasting at least 30 minutes to ask about my ticket refund.


And finally, when I did get my ticket refund, It was Rs 4700 short of the orignal refund amount. I keep mailing them and calling them asking about this and they tell me that this is the amount that was refunded earlier, and they just refuse to understand when I tell them that it is supposed to be the refund amount of the money I paid towards the modification, which I believe they are trained not to listen to.


A relatively small amount of money to let go, but how can these people be so dumb? Or have they been trained to act dumb to make the company more money?


Here on I have decided to book tickets only through the airline websites, and use agoda or expedia for hotels.
