I had booked a round trip ticket on cleartrip Mum-Man, trip ID 1302031196, in the month of February 2013, due to unforeseen circumstances has to cancel my booking. This is when my ordeal began and is still continuing, with the refund not yet credited back to my account. Numerous follow ups with the contact centre, where the wait times are unbelievably high and the staff have limited powers to assist anyone with a booking issue. The final response ironically after 2 months of follow-up states a transaction reference number under which the refund was apparently processed and a clear disclaimer stating cleartrip has done the needful and the actual crediting is not their responsibility.
There is no escalation matrix or a sufficiently responsible person to whom one can speak to
Whilst customers are penalised for cancellation , there is no penalty which the organization is willing to accept for this absolutely shoddy service, barring a promise of some miniscule charge reversal, which again is not being credited.
If you are not able to have a fairly robust after sales service, you should not operate in an industry which is primarily driven by service excellence, especially in the online arena.
I hope someone, committed and responsive in cleartrip reads this review and does something about their functioning, lest they lose more customers like me due to this utterly shoddy service.
