I saw click over this weekend. Its an interesting idea to make movie on as the youth can relate t it very well. All of us are stuck with our sooooooooo busy work life that we dont have time for family and friends. Its almost true that we feel disconnected with our friends , relatives etc as we communicate with them so little due to work pressure. It is precisely this thought that Frank Coraci has brought to light with this fun, light comedy drama.
The storyline:
Michael Newman (Adam Sandler) is an overworked architect who aspires to be a partner in the firm so that he can have more time to spend with his family.When having trouble locating a remote one night after an argument with his wife , he gets angry and drives out to Bath & Beyond to buy a universal remote. in the store he meets Morty ( Christopher Walken) who is an eccentric inventor. He gives a universal remote to Michael through which he can literally control the universe. Then the fun part in the movie starts. The remote alows him to fast forward, rewind and even pause his own life and the remote also has effects on other people and pets in Michael’s life. Michael decides to do some serious fast forwarding of his life by 3 months so that he gets the much desired position of a partner in the firm but he ends up fast forwarding 14 months of his life and his whole life (sex, sickness, showering, driving etc) goes on a auto pilot and he winds up fast forwarding 10 years of his life . By that time , his life had undergone malor changes like he had become grossly overweight, his kids have grown up (he doesn recognise them), his wife has divorced him, his father had died, he had cancer and 4 operations for liposuction and finally dies of heart attack. Fortunately for Michael this was all a dream while he was sleeping on the bed displayed in the store and when he wakes up he drives home and make sure to express his love to his entire family.
Moral of the story-------- Family comes first in the battle between Family and work.
Cast Performances:
Adam Saddler --- He is good at depicting the role he has been given. He makes you laugh but seeing Adam past performances , this isn’t a killer.... May be the subject was too heavy for a comedy drama.
Kate Beckinsale--- Nothing much for her to do .... the director didnt bother to explore her acting potential
Christopher Walken ----- Weak performance
Joseph Castanon and Tatum Macann (Michael’s kids)--- Sharp performer .. very cute and entertaining
All others--- nothing much to notice
Overall Click is a fun movie and definately a one time watch (looking at the Bollywood releases this week)......... So go ahead .... Keep Clicking !!!!
