Cloudfreelancing.net is a WFH fake website

I’m writing this to warn others and hopefully prevent them from going through what I experienced on CloudFreelancing.net. This platform presents itself as a freelancing website offering work-from-home tasks. At first, everything looks professional and convincing. They assign you simple tasks(like data entry or form filling) and show your earnings in a virtual wallet on the site. In my case, I worked and earned ₹;42, 000.

The platform seemed genuine initially because they did not ask for any payment up front. They gave me work, I completed it on time, and the amount was reflected in my account. This tactic is part of the scam they build trust first. Once your earnings accumulate and you try to withdraw the funds, that’s when the real problem begins.

Out of nowhere, they display a message on the website saying something like:

"Payout Portal will be closed by today(7th May) 4 PM. Those who all activated their(PG) Payment Gateway will get their payment. And those who failed to activate their PG by today won’t be able to withdraw their payment."

This message is designed to create urgency and pressure you into paying them money quickly. They then ask you to pay for a Payment Gateway Activation or a Membership Plan before you can receive your payment. This is where the scam becomes clear. No legitimate freelancing platform charges you to withdraw your own earnings.

Once I saw this, I tried to contact them via phone and email but they completely stopped responding. They ignored my calls and messages, and the support team that once replied quickly is now silent. It’s obvious they never intended to pay.

However, it’s extremely disheartening to be cheated after putting in genuine work.

Please be warned:

Do NOT send them any money, no matter what they promise.

They will not pay you, they just want to extract money through fake fees.

This is a well-crafted scam, and many innocent people are falling victim to it.

I urge anyone who has dealt with this site to report it immediately on the Indian Cyber Crime Portal and other scam reporting platforms. Also, please share your experience on forums, social media, and review sites to prevent others from being trapped.

To anyone looking for freelance work: stick to reputable platforms like Upwork, Freelancer, Fiverr, etc. If a platform offers you money without verifying your ID, portfolio, or conducting a formal onboarding process, that’s a red flag. And no legitimate site will ask for money to withdraw your earnings.

Stay safe, stay alert, and don’t fall for fake freelancing platforms like CloudFreelancing.net.
